According to the film's conceptual designer Brian Froud, ''Labyrinth'' was first discussed between himself and director Jim Henson during a limousine ride on the way back from a special screening of their 1982 fantasy film ''The Dark Crystal''. Labyrinth Wiki focuses on the beloved fantasy film Labyrinth, and features spotlights on its characters, stars and crew. It allows fans to learn about the world of Labyrinth, and share their knowledge of it where they can.

The wiki also covers the tie-in material produced to complement the film, including its novelization and Marvel comic book adaptation. Tokyopop's manga sequel to the film, Return to Labyrinth, is also covered as well as Archaia Entertainment's spin-off comics such as Labyrinth: Coronation.
