Jennifer Connelly (born 12 December 1970) is an American actress. Connelly portrayed Sarah, the central character in Labyrinth.

Career

Connelly started her career as a child model, appearing in clothing catalougues and advertisements. She received her first film role in Sergio Leone's gangster-epic Once Upon A Time In America when she was eleven years old, and went on to appear in a number of other films throughout the 1980s including Phenomena (1985), Labyrinth (1986) and Some Girls (1988).

In 1990 Connelly appeared in Dennis Hopper's The Hot Spot, and the next year appeared in The Rocketeer. After appearing in a range of low profile films throughout the 1990s, Connelly had her big break in 2000 with Darren Aronofsky's critically acclaimed indie Requiem For A Dream. Her performance in that film saw her win a nomination for The Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, however this achievement was topped in 2002 by the numerous accolades (including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress) she received for her performance as Alicia Nash in A Beautiful Mind (2001).

Connelly has featured in films consistently throughout the 2000s, from the super-hero film Hulk (2003) to the controversial drama Creation (2009). Her last films to be released were The Dilemma and Salvation Boulevard in 2011.

Personal Life

Connelly has been married to English actor Paul Bettany since 2003.[2] They have two children, Stellan (born 2003)[3] and Agnes Lark (born May 31 2011).[4] Connelly also has an older child, Kai (born 1997), from an earlier relationship.
